Route 2: Funes/Villnöss valley - the home of Reinhold Messner: Odle/Geisler towers - Furchetta north face

We will reach the end of the Funes/Villnöss valley (1,370 m) by coach and hike along the Adolf Munkel trail, which leads through the north face of Furchetta past rugged Dolomite landscapes. A historic place: In 1925 Emil Solleder and Fritz Wiessner were the first to climb the impressively steep, 800 m high Furchetta north face. In 1967 Reinhold Messner was the first to ascend it in winter.
Stop-over at the Geisleralm refuge (1996 m). The hike will continue at the foot of imposing Dolomite walls and end at the Zanser Alm refuge (1685 m). Return journey to Bressanone/Brixen by coach.
