In "Beyond the Mountain", Steve House opens with his groundbreaking first ascents in North America's premier mountains: the Alaska Range and the Canadian Rockies. Taking the lessons of successes and failures in these technical, remote and serious peaks, Steve opened eyes with a forty-four hour non-stop solo ascent of Pakistan's K7. The very next summer he and Vince Anderson opened a new route, in alpine style, on the world's biggest mountain wall: the legendary Rupal Face.
